Overnight Oats are easily becoming one of my favorite breakfast meals. Overnight Oats is basically oatmeal mixed with Greek yogurt, fruit, seeds and anything else you can imagine, left in the fridge overnight. It’s a simple, easy and delicious planned meal for those early mornings without time to cook a healthy breakfast.
So how do you make Overnight Oats? It’s super-duper quick, easy and simple:
- Half cup to 1 Cup Instant/Quick uncooked oatmeal *Note: Many recipes I have seen call for old fashion rolled oats instead of instant oatmeal or steel cut oatmeal, it’s really up to you what you prefer! I like the regular oatmeal.
- Half cup Greek Yogurt
- Handful of raspberries
- Spoonful of flax-seed
- A few dark chocolate chips
- Spoonful of Honey
- Drizzle of Almond Milk
I like to simply layer my ingredients in a mason jar and mix it with my spoon before I eat it, but mixing it beforehand is also an option! When you have layered/mixed your ingredients together close the jar and place it in the fridge overnight. When you’re ready for breakfast the next morning, simply pop open your jar and enjoy!
The recipe I have listed only scratches the surface of what can be mixed in Overnight Oats, other ingredients I love in my oats include: bananas, strawberries, blueberries, apples, blackberries, peaches, chia seeds, PB2, vanilla protein powder, chocolate protein powder, and peanut butter.
